"The place where the land moves on forever,", Siringitu,
as the Maasai call that land, where they had grazed their cattle
on the vast grassy plains for millennia.
The Serengeti is the jewel of the wildlife
protected areas in East Africa, and is home to
millions carnivores, like lions, cheetah, leopard, crocodiles, and
herbivores like impalla, Thomson's gazelle, elephant, giraffes,
just to mention a few.
The highlight of an African safari is seeing
the annual Serengeti migration, an ancient phenomenon that
is the largest movement of wildlife on earth. Each year, one million
wildebeest, zebras, Thomson's gazelles and other animals migrate
through the plains of Serengeti and the neighbouring Masai Mara
(see map), following seasonally dictated variations of rains in
search of grass and water.
Our Camp is situated is situated at Ikoma, just
outside the park. and the animals pass between June to August,
and November to January through this area, allowing our
guests to be close to the migration during these month. Due to its
central location, all parts of the Serengeti are
easily accessible. And the Serengeti hosts many residential wildlife,
and a stay at our camp is an experience throughout the year.
